WCA conference speakers
Global cement industry leaders, policymakers and technology providers will examine the strategic, operational and sustainability challenges shaping the sector’s next phase of transformation at a major conference in April.
The World Cement Association (WCA) will host its 2026 Annual Conference from April 19 – 21 at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand under the theme ‘Shaping a sustainable future through digitization, innovation and performance’.
The programme will open with a comprehensive assessment of the global economic environment and its impact on cement markets, alongside regional outlooks across Asia and Europe. Discussions will explore regulatory developments including carbon border adjustment mechanisms (CBAM) in Europe, progress in China’s carbon trading system, and market dynamics across Thailand and South East Asia. Industry experts will also provide insights into practical decarbonisation pathways that safeguard competitiveness, including alternative fuels, next-generation SCMs, calcined clay developments and AI-enabled kiln optimisation.
The second day will build on this strategic outlook by addressing the overcapacity challenge and industry restructuring, with case studies and regional perspectives providing delegates with practical insights into unlocking performance while accelerating decarbonisation. Sessions will explore digital maturity and AI-driven plant operations, manufacturing optimisation, sustainable building solutions and circular concrete models, as well as evolving customer requirements across the construction value chain.
The event will also feature the WCA Awards Ceremony, which aims to recognise excellence in sustainability, innovation, safety and leadership across the global cement sector. This will take place at the Awards Gala Dinner on April 20.
“The cement industry is navigating a period of profound transformation. From managing overcapacity and market volatility to deploying AI and delivering measurable decarbonisation, the challenges are complex but so are the opportunities. Our Annual Conference will bring together global leaders to exchange practical solutions and strengthen collaboration, helping shape a sustainable and resilient future for cement worldwide,” commented Philippe Richart, CEO of the WCA.
Registration is now open. Tickets include admission to the two-day event, including all sessions, refreshments and lunch, exhibition, and Awards Gala Dinner. - TradeArabia news Service
