The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced that it has signed a lease agreement with Sultan Logistics, a leading player in the freight sector in Saudi Arabia, for the development of a logistics park at Jeddah Islamic Port in Al Khumrah at a total investment of SAR250 million ($66.5 million).

The project, which will come up on a 200,000-sq-m area, will provide modern logistics facilities to support storage and re-export activity in the Saudi port city. It aligns with Mawani’s strategic initiatives under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to establish logistics parks both within and outside Saudi Arabia’s ports.

The broader goal is to solidify the kingdom’s position as a leading global logistics hub, provide advanced logistics services, drive national development, and support the economic and social objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, said Mawani in its LinkedIn post.

The new logistics park will help empower the private sector and enhance its contribution to the national economy, it stated.

Last April, Sultan Logistics had signed a similar agreement with Mawani to develop a SAR200 million logistics park at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
