The Dubai Airshow Management Committee will conduct an emergency drill at Dubai International airport on November 5, ahead of the Tenth Aerospace Exhibition - Dubai Airshow 2007.
The emergency exercise is aimed at testing the emergency preparedness of response teams from the various units at Dubai Airports as well as its strategic partners and government agencies.
The drill will have full participation from the Ministry of Defense, Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defense, Airport Security and Safety, Airport Fire department, and the Trauma Centre at Rashid Hospital.
The drill encompasses all aspects of emergency response, including evacuation and rescue, fire fighting, security, medical services, and communications.
According to the Airshow Crisis Management Committee, which met recently to plan the exercise, the drill will not affect normal operations at the Dubai International airport.
The Committee has advised residents living in the vicinity of the airport not to be alarmed if they see unusual activity, including ambulance movement and helicopter flybys, during the mock drill.
