Saudi Aramco said it was on track to boost oil production capacity by 1.2 million barrels per day in 2009.

'We have 1.2 million barrels per day in new projects that will bring output capacity to 12 million barrels per day in 2009,' Aramco public relations manager Ziyad Al Shiha said.

Aramco's total output does not include production from the neutral zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Saudi Arabia is aiming for total production capacity, including the neutral zone, of 12.5 million bpd in 2009. Reuters
