King’s College Riyadh SEDRA has reached 20 per cent completion.

Construction of King’s College Riyadh SEDRA is around 20 per cent complete overall, marking steady progress on the project since its official launch in February of this year.

Commissioned by ROSHN Group, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company and the kingdom’s leading multi-asset real estate developer, and operated by Cognita Middle East, one of the world’s most diverse education groups, the campus represents ROSHN’s largest private education development to date.

The purpose-built British curriculum private educational institution is taking shape within the group’s flagship SEDRA masterplanned community north of Riyadh.

Designed in partnership with leading architects and delivery teams, the new campus will bring together outstanding academic, sporting and creative facilities in a carefully planned environment. As the structure rises, key elements of the campus are already taking shape, from specialist science and technology laboratories to a state-of-the-art theatre, sports facilities and collaborative learning spaces.

Ground floor works have been fully completed across the 36,300-sq-m facility, and roofing works for both the first and second floors are now nearing completion. Notably, internal systems installations have surpassed the 90 per cent mark, reflecting an advanced level of MEP coordination and fit-out preparation running parallel to the main structural programme.

Scale and Specification

King’s College Riyadh SEDRA has been purpose-built to accommodate all academic stages from early years through to secondary education (Pre-School to Year 13, ages 3–18), initially welcoming students from Pre-School to Year 9 before expanding year-on-year.

The campus specification reflects a premium brief. The construction plan includes a variety of specialised sports and academic facilities:

Aquatics and sports: A 25-m six-lane swimming pool, an eight-court sports hall, two padel courts, two basketball courts, and a full-size floodlit football pitch.

Arts and culture: A dedicated theatre and performing arts centre, alongside multiple music and art studios.

Academics: Cutting-edge science and technology (STEM) labs and specialist libraries.

The school will deliver the National Curriculum for England, adapted to the local context, with internationally recognised exit qualifications including IGCSEs, A-Levels, and BTECs, alongside compulsory Arabic language and Saudi national subjects.

Community context

The school sits at the heart of the SEDRA community, which is now home to more than 3,000 families and continues to grow as one of Riyadh’s leading master-planned developments offering a fully integrated lifestyle.

ROSHN Group positions education as a strategic vertical within its broader diversification strategy, and the King’s College Riyadh SEDRA project exemplifies its model of integrating world-class social infrastructure directly within its residential communities.

Oussama Kabbani, Group Chief Development Officer of ROSHN Group, has described the project as central to the group’s commitment to “human-centric environments that support the growth and well-being of future generations in line with Vision 2030”.

Timeline

The school is scheduled to open its doors in the third quarter of 2027. With ground-floor structural works complete, upper-floor roofing advancing, and internal systems already at an advanced stage, the project appears well-positioned to meet that milestone.
