Specialities Construction General Trading & Contracting Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Specialities Group Holding, has been awarded a KD24.2 million ($78 million) contract for the construction and maintenance of infrastructure and public buildings at Suburb Center (N1) in Al Mutlaa City.

Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) gave the go-ahead to Specialities Construction for the project, said the company in its disclosure to the Boursa Kuwait.

The contract covers the construction, completion and maintenance of services, infrastructure and public buildings at Suburb Center (N1) within the Al-Mutlaa City development. The project forms part of Kuwait’s efforts to develop residential areas supported by essential infrastructure and public facilities.

Al Mutlaa City is the largest housing and infrastructure development project in Kuwaiti history, located in the Jahra Governorate about 40 km northwest of capital Kuwait City.

Spanning 100 to 104 sq km, it is designed as a modern urban centre. Divided into 12 distinct suburbs, it will boast 28,288 residential/villa plots that will be home to around 300,000 to 400,000 residents.

The project, being developed under Kuwait's national Vision 2035, is being over seen by PAHW.

A Kuwait-based holding company, Specialities Group, is involved in the manufacture of special construction chemicals and waterproofing systems through its subsidiaries. The company operates through key business segments - general trading, contracting, construction, oil and gas as well as real estate.

The contract award win further boosts the company’s portfolio of construction and infrastructure projects in Kuwait, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
